LCFF stands for Local Control Funding Formula. This refers to the manner in which the State of California funds school districts. Every year the District will produce a Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) to show how the District is using the LCFF funds to meet the eight State priorities and reduce the achievement gap.
Our Vision
Vision: Luther Burbank School District is dedicated to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment that reflects and celebrates the rich culture of our community and all members of our district. We believe that every student has the right to a high-quality education that prepares them for a successful future, regardless of their background.

Our goal is to cultivate globally minded scholars who possess a deep sense of compassion, problem-solving skills, and leadership qualities. We encourage our students to not only excel academically but also actively contribute to their community and make a positive impact beyond its borders.
To achieve this, we maintain a challenging and supportive learning environment that meets the needs of all of our students. We aim to cultivate independent and confident thinkers who are equipped to approach challenges creatively and collaborate effectively with others.
At Luther Burbank School, we are committed to ensuring that every student receives a well-rounded education that prepares them for success in an ever-changing world.
Luther Burbank Advisory Council
School Site Council and District English Learner Advisory Committee
Important note: Due to Luther Burbank’s small size and unique status as a single-school district, our School Site Council and District English Learner Advisory Committee overlap and meet concurrently. Not every advisory council member has full membership on each committee, and membership requirements are formally noted to meet state requirements for each committee.
The Luther Burbank Advisory Council exists to guide key decisions for the school and district around overall educational programs for student achievement, budget allocations, and English Learner programs. The Luther Burbank Advisory Council advises the Superintendent and Principal on matters of large-scale school and district planning. Day-to-day school operations are not the purview of the Advisory Council; the School Leadership Council advises the Principal on day-to-day school operations from a staff perspective, and parents and family members are welcome to attend Coffees with the Principal to participate in discussion and guidance on school operations.
